Week 23

I passed my 3 hour glucose test. Good thing because I was not about to do it again. I STILL have bruises all over my arms!!

What a relief though. Whew!!

Nothing much to report. I am feeling pretty good. The mood swings have totally subsided and I feel human again. For now. :)

She kicks like a karate champ. I love feeling her movements, even though at times it is a bit odd.

We have lots going on here. The kitchen is being remodeled as I type this (woohoo!), we are scheduled for new flooring in the dining room and the babys room, and we have a bathroom remodel coming up. We are also going to get new carpet in the living room and hall, and we are getting that area painted as well. Oh and hopefully there is a pool heater in my very near future! And new window treatments all around too! Whew. It all makes me very tired...but I am excited. We will practically have a new house when it is all said and done. So much for 'Rome wasn't built in a day'! Who ever coined that term never met my husband!!!

After the kitchen/dining room is done, then we will paint Mayas room, and get the nursery in order. I can't wait. All of her furniture is sitting in there in boxes and its driving me NUTS.

I waited too long to sign up for childbirth classes at the hospital. They are full. Kinda sucks, I was looking forward to doing that. I guess it isnt the end of the world...I mean, I kinda know what to expect, and that is that nothing will go as planned! So, I am not planning anything. I would like to make it to 5 cm and then get an epidural. If I can go longer than that, fine. If for some reason I have to have a c-section, then so be it. I want what is best for Maya. And that is it in a nutshell...

Til next time ....

Comments:
If you go into the hospital undilated and make it to 5cm before your epidural then you deserve a prize; I couldn't have done it.

Don't worry about the childbirth classes. I never did take any; kept putting it off until it was too late. My doctor said he could take them or leave them. I honestly don't think they would have helped at all; there's no way you can plan for something like that.

glad you passed the BG test.

i had 2 babies. first completely natural. the breathing worked for me. it works if you can stay focused and have no complications. second i had a c-section. it was neat getting to experience both ways.

i love home remodeling. we did it to our first house in CT and have done a lot here. i love looking at before and after pics. im addicted to HGTV. lol

Congrats on the test results.

I went to childbirth classes and when they showed one being born - I passed out! HA!

It's good to go in without any concrete expectations, if you can. Most everything I wanted to happen didn't. And vice versa. Like you said, you just do what's best for the baby at the time.

It's funny to hear you call her Maya!! Not funny haha, but funny good.

My childbirth classes were useless, since that first birth did not go in any way that they talked about.

The only good thing was the tour of the Labour and Delivery ward and the nursery, which you can book on its own.
